Millikin Men’s Basketball Improves to 4-0

The Millikin men's basketball team improved to 4-0 with a 74-62 win over the University of Wisconsin Stout on November 19, 2022 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
 
After starting the season with three road wins, the Big Blue played at home for the first time this season and built a 40-21 lead at halftime. Millikin lead the entire game, but the Blue Devils made a late run pulling to within one at 59-58 with 4:45 remaining in the game. Back-to-back three-pointers form Demarcus Bond and JT Welch pushed the Big Blue lead back to seven at 65-58 with 3:14 remaining.
 
Millikin shot 45 percent (26-58) from the field and went 10-24 (42 percent) from three-point range. Millikin was 12-13 from the free throw line. Stout made 40 percent (23-57) of its shots going 6-17 from three-point range. Stout won the rebounding battle 34-30.  
 
Welch led the Big Blue with 19 points. Drake Stevenson finished with 11. Cole Laurence had eight points and a team high 10 rebounds. Bond finished with seven points, five assists and four rebounds.
 
Brody Fox led Wisconsin Stout with 24 points.
 
Millikin is now 4-0 while the Blue Devils fall to 2-3.
