Millikin Wrestling Opens with Two Wins

The Millikin wrestling team opened the 2022-23 season by winning two duals on November 2 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois. The Big Blue defeated Carthage College 45—3 and the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) 30-21.
 
Millikin opened the Carthage match in dominating fashion. Zac Blasioli won at 125 pounds by fall. Trey Pearcy and Jordan Carson followed with 15-0 technical fall wins. Peter McCusker and Dejon Glaster each posted major decisions and Caden Owens won 6-3 at 174 pounds. Freshman Colton Carlisle won his first collegiate by fall in 2:04 and Cade Scott won at 197 by fall in 2:28.
 
Millikin started the dual with MSOE with 18 points after three forfeits. McCusker scored his second win on the night at 149 7-4 to make it 21-0 Big Blue. The Raiders then came storming back with win by fall from Michael Smith, Harry Nemeck and Joseph Estrada. Carlisle then shifted the momentum back to Millikin with a win by fall at 184 in 44 seconds. Scott finished the Millikin scoring with a 3-2 win at 197.
