Millikin Wrestling Remains Unbeaten

The Millikin wrestling team improved to 5-0 on the season defeating Wheaton College 36-7 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) dual on December 8 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois. Millikin entered the match ranked #24 in the NWCA Dual Team rankings.

Millikin won the first five matches on competed on the mat. Zac Blasioli opened with a 12-4 major decision at 125 over Brendan Johnston. Blasioli, who was ranked fifth this week in the NWCA poll, improved to 8-1 on the season.

At 133, Trey Pearcy scored a technical fall win 17-0 over Cooper Chapman. Millikin seniors Jordan Carson and Peter McCusker both scored Senior Night wins. Carson won a 2-1 decision and McCusker scored a 17-1 technical fall victory. Carson, who is ranked 14th at 141 improved to 11-0 and McCusker improved to 12-2. Big Blue freshman Nathan Callaway remained undefeated winning 5-0 at 157 pounds and he stands at 11-0 on the season.

Millikin picked up a forfeit at 165. Freshman Colton Carlisle won at fall over Matthew Durbin at 184 pounds and Ruben Silvas won at 285 pounds in a major decision 12-2.
