Millikin Baseball Rolls over Elmhurst

The Millikin baseball team finished the regular season in style sweeping a conference double header from Elmhurst University on May 7 in Decatur.
The Big Blue won game one 15-5 (8) and took game two 15-0 (7).
 
The Big Blue had 18 hits in game one including four doubles, two triples and two home runs. Tommy Shaw led the Millikin attack going 4-5 with a home run and five RBI. Tanner Coleman went 3-5 with a double and triple along with three RBI. Keagan Brady was 2-3 with a home run and three RBI and two runs scored. Frank Bryan and Lucas Ryan each had two hits including a double.
 
Caleb Buehrle was the winning pitcher throwing six innings allowing seven hits and three unearned runs.
 
Paul Formby had three hits for Elmhurst along with two RBI. Trevor Lorek and Trey Romay each had two hits.
 
The Big Blue had 15 hits and drew seven walks in game two. Millikin had seven extra base hits.  Tyler Gade, Ryan, Shaw and Liam McGill all had two hits for Millikin. Gade, Bryan and McGill each drove in two runs.
 
Matt Wilson pitched five shutout innings for the Big Blue allowing only two hits.  Christian Badorek and Drew Sutton each pitched a hitless inning in relief.
 
Millikin ends the regular season is 26-14 and 11-7 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). With other conference action wrapping up today and Sunday, the Big Blue are assured of a top four seed in the upcoming CCIW Baseball Tournament that will be played at North Central College in Naperville May 11-14. Elmhurst ends its season 13-33, 4-13
