Men's Soccer Hangs Tough with #10 Calvin

The Big Blue men's soccer team traveled to Grand Rapids, Mich. on Wednesday, September 14 for a matchup with the tenth-ranked Knights of Calvin University. Millikin hung tough with Calvin, falling in a 1-2 contest. 

Millikin got on the board first with a goal in the 35th minute by Ignacio Diaz, his first of the season, assisted by senior Luke Owsley, giving MU a 1-0 lead at the half.

The Knights evened the score in the 72nd minute with a goal by Oliver Akintade, then a Christopher Schau goal in the 78th minute gave the Knighrs a one-goal lead. 

Calvin outshot the Big Blue 17-11 in the contest, and goalkeeper Felix Malm tallied four saves against the 5-0-1 Knights. 

Millikin hits the road on Saturday, September 17 for a matchup against the Tigers of DePauw University.
