Big Blue Cross Country Wins Wright Classic

The Millikin men's and women's cross country team both won at Millikin's H.W. Wright Classic held on September 30 at South Shores Park in Decatur, Illinois.

The Millikin men defeated Mineral Area College 19-44. Big Blue senior Dane Alexander finished in first place in 25:31.5. Alexander made a pass in the final 100 yard to pull ahead of Brad Ahrens of Mineral Area. Austin Bridgman was third in 25:54.8 followed by Bradyn Olmstead in fourth in 25:55.8 and Gabe Bush in fifth in 26:31.0.

The Millikin women won its 6K race 16-47 over Mineral Area. The Big Blue took the top four spots with Quincy Collings coming in first at 23:02.7. Alyssa Ruiz was second at 23:35.4 followed by freshman Emma Mallory in third in 23:53.2, which is the 17th fastest 6K in Millikin history. Hailey O'Malley was fourth in 25:05.5.
