Millikin Women’s Soccer Wins Home Opener

After playing its first three games on the road, the Millikin women's soccer team won its home opener 2-1 over Webster University on September 7 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur.
 
Webster opened the scoring in the 26th minute on a goal from Mya Stegen. The Big Blue tied the game at 38:39 with freshman Hailie Schafman scoring her second goal of the season with the assist going to Ariana Dunne.
 
Millikin scored the game winner with four minutes remaining in the game on a direct kick from 15 yards out by Kameron Zurzolo.
 
Sophie Dorgan earned the win in goal for Millikin with three saves.
 
Millikin is now 2-0-2 while Webster goes to 2-2.
 
The Big Blue are back home on Saturday, September 10 hosting Loras College at 4 p.m.
