Millikin Men Drop Close CCIW Contest

The Millikin men dropped a close conference road game losing at Illinois Wesleyan 73-68 on January 11 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
Millikin trailed by two 35-33 at halftime and were outscored by three points in the second half. The game had five ties and five lead changes with the Titans leading for 31 minutes of the game. The Titans largest lead of the game was 11 points in the final five minutes of the first half. Millikin's largest advantage was four points with 12:34 remaining in the game.
The Big Blue pulled to within three points four different times in the final three minutes of the game, but the Titans kept the Big Blue from getting any closer.
 
Millikin shot 44 percent (24-54) from the field and went 8-21 from three-point range. Illinois Wesleyan shot 47 percent (27-57) from the field and made 3-18 from three-point range. Each team had 32 rebounds.
 
Millikin's top scorer was JT Welch with 21 points. Drake Stevenson had 15 points and five rebounds and Demarcus Bond had 14 points and a team high six rebounds. Noah Livingston added 10 points for Millikin.
 
Ryan Sroka led the Titans with 17 points followed by Cody Mitchell with 16.
 
Millikin falls to 8-8, 1-6 while Illinois Wesleyan improves to 7-6, 4-2. The Big Blue travel to North Central on January 14.
