Women’s Soccer Falls to North Central

The Millikin women's soccer team lost to first place North Central College 3-0 on October 18 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois.
 
The Big Blue played the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) leader tough in the first half going into the locker room at half-time down 1-0.
 
The Cardinals first half goal was scored by Elle Sutter her 19th on the season and come off a long pass in from Kassandra Salviola.
 
North Central's Katie Huey converted a penalty kick in the 49th minute to make it a 2-0 Cardinals lead. The penalty came after a Millikin red card when a field player touched the play in goal denying a North Central scoring opportunity.  North Central took advantage of its player advantage two minutes later scoring the game's final goal by Holly Helmers.
 
North Central out shot Millikin 18-3. Big Blue goalkeeper Sophie Dorgan recorded seven saves.
 
North Central is now 13-2, 6-0 while Millikin goes to 6-5-2, 2-2-2.
