Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | Morgan Vogels

Volleyball Upsets #8 Calvin, Downs Defiance to Tally 3-0 Record at Midwest Invitational

The Big Blue women's volleyball team took the court for day two of the Midwest Invitational for matchups with Defiance and host #8 Calvin. Millikin downed Defiance in three sets before upsetting the Knights in four. 

Against Defiance (25-11, 26-24, 25-7), Millikin was led by Anna Deutschmann with 11 kills, and Kaitlyn Skowronski added eight. Alyssa Frederking notched 17 assists, and Deutschmann tallied four service aces and 13 digs. Kyra Carothers notched five total blocks 

In their matchup against Calvin (21-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-23), Addison Oyer was the kills leader with 16, and Delaney Higgins added 10. Sophia Howell notched 24 digs, and Kailee Itzenhuiser added 23. 

With the wins, the Big Blue improve to 19-7 overall. Millikin will travel to Naperville, Ill. for a matchup with North Central College on Wednesday, October 25.
