Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | Morgan Vogels

Volleyball Falls Twice in Bloomington against UW-Eau Claire, UChicago

The Millikin women's volleyball team traveled to Bloomington, Ill. on Saturday, October 28 for matchups with UW-Eau Claire and UChicago. The Big Blue fell in four against the Blugolds and took the Maroons to five sets but were unable to overcome an early fifth set deficit. 

Against Eau Claire (26-24, 20-25, 22-25, 22-25), the Big Blue were led offensively by Addison Oyer with 11 kills. Kailee Itzenhuiser added seven and six service aces, and Emma Taylor chipped in seven kills. Kyra Carothers tallied four service aces and four blocks defensively, while Sophia Howell topped the digs column with 25. Alyssa Frederking helped power the MU offense with 19 set assists. 

For the Blugolds, Mya Cinnamo led the way with 15 kills and Avery Pennekamp added 13. 

Against Chicago, (25-27, 25-17, 25-27, 25-20, 9-15), Itzenhuiser was the kills leader with 22 and notched three aces. She also led the kills category with 21. Carothers tallied seven blocks, and Frederking was the assists leader with 28. 

Millikin will meet their final College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opponent on Wednesday, November 1 in Rock Island, Ill. when they meet Augustana College.
