#21 Millikin Wrestling Goes 2-0 on Opening Night

The Millikin University wrestling team went 2-0 in duals held on November 2 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to open the 2023-24 season.

Millikin opened with an 36-18 win over Concordia-Wisconsin and closed out the night with a 36-3 win over MSOE.

Millikin opened the with ranked tied for 21st in the NWCA Division III Preseason Poll. On opening night two Big Blue wrestlers showed they deserved their preseason national individual ranking. Fourth ranked senior Zac Blasioli posted two wins at 125 points winning by major decision 17-4 over Devin Gore of Concordia and winning by fall over Branden Hansen of MSOE. Sophomore Nathan Callaway was ranked 11th at 157 pounds. Callaway posted two wins on opening night winning by fall and a 16-1 technical fall victory.

Other Millikin wrestlers posting two wins were sophomore Coby Haney at 133 pounds, senior Trey Pearcy at 141, junior Joey Jens at 165, senior Dejon Glaster at 174 pounds and sophomore Leno Campbell at 285.

Millikin will be back in action on November 11 hosting the Millikin Open starting at 9:30 a.m. This year's event will be held at the Decatur Indoor Sports Center.
