#15 Millikin Women Roll Past Illinois College

The 15th ranked Millikin University women's basketball team defeated Illinois College 84-52 at the Griswold Center on November 26. The Big Blue are now 6-0 on the season while Illinois College falls to 3-3.
 
Millikin controlled the game from the start leading 24-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Big Blue had a 47-23 advantage at halftime.
 
Millikin forced Illinois College to commit 26 turnovers and out rebounded the Lady Blues 50-34. Millikin shot 32-75 (43 percent) from the field while holding Illinois College to 20-59 (34 percent) shooting. Both teams struggled from three-point range with Millikin hitting only 3-19 while Illinois College made 4-15. Millikin made 17-24 from the free throw line.
 
Millikin had a balanced scoring attack with five players scoring in double figures. Elyce Knudsen led the way with 16 points and four rebounds. Sophie Darden recorded her third double double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Matayia Tellis added a career high 14 points and four rebounds. Bailey Coffman had 12 points and seven rebounds while freshman Christina Rice posted a career scoring high with 11 points along with five rebounds.
 
Kendra Bass led Illinois College with 18 points followed by Maya Smith with 12.
