Big Blue Men Fall in Final Home Game

The Millikin men's basketball team lost in its final home game of the 2022-23 season falling to Illinois Wesleyan 57-51 on February 8 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
 
The game was a defensive battle with six lead changes and four ties. The largest lead in the game was seven points by Illinois Wesleyan at 47-40 with 4:59 left in the game. Millikin had a six point lead midway through the first half. Illinois Wesleyan lead 28-24 at halftime.
 
Millikin shot 30 percent (17-56) from the field and made 5-20 from three-point range. Illinois Wesleyan was 20-55 (36 percent) from the field and made 5-21 from beyond the arc. The Titans controlled the glass out rebounding Millikin 43-28.
 
Millikin's top scorer was JT Welch with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.
 
Ryan Sroka lead the Titans with 15 points.
 
Millikin falls to 11-12, 4-10 while Illinois Wesleyan goes to 12-10, 7-6.
 
The Big Blue close out the season with two road games starting with a trip to Carthage College on February 11.
