Match Recap: Men's Tennis | | Morgan Vogels

Tennis Battles Quincy, Men Notch 4-3 Victory

The Millikin men's and women's tennis teams met NCAA Division II squad Quincy at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex on Wednesday, October 9 in a match that had previously been postponed.

The men picked up a 4-3 victory against the Hawks, while the women fell 0-7. 

The team of Clayton Maack and Matthew Kordesh were the victors at No. 2 doubles, downing Joseph Restrepo and Pablo Mateos Niella 6-3. The team of Cole Phillips and Theodor Wolf put up a fight at No. 1, but ultimately fell to Inigo Villacama and Gianni Lopez 5-7.

On the singles side, Kordesh added a victory with a 2-6, 7-5, 10-4 win over Mateos Niella at No. 4. Esteban Durand and Max Macke were each credited with wins by default at No. 5 and No. 6. 

The men end their fall portion of the season with a 2-0 record. Women's tennis will meet Wheaton and Elmhurst to finish out their fall season.
