Women’s Basketball Falls in Chicago

The Millikin women's basketball team lost at the University of Chicago 61-45 at the 2024 Midway Classic on November 15 in Chicago.
 
Millikin led the game 13-12 at the end of the first quarter, but the Maroons went into the locker room at halftime up 33-25. Chicago out scored the Big Blue 28-20 in the second half to secure the win.
 
Millikin struggled from the field hitting on 31 percent (16-52) from the field including going 4-19 (21 percent) from three-point range. The University of Chicago shot 41 percent (25-61) from the field and hit on 25 percent from three-point range. The Maroons out rebounded the Big Blue 42-31.
 
Emily Brenneisen led Millikin with 12 points followed by Emily White with eight points and eight rebounds.
 
Sophia North led Chicago with 14 points followed by Kate Gross with 13.
 
Millikin is now 1-1 on the season and faces Middlebury College on Saturday in Chicago. The Maroons improve to 3-0.
