Triathletes Post Strong Swim Times at 2024 NCAA National Collegiate Triathlon

In an unorthodox means of competing in their final race of the 2024 season, the Big Blue women's triathletes traveled to Clermont, Fla. for the 2024 NCAA National Triathlon Championships. Due to debris from Hurricane Milton, the lake at the original race venue was deemed unusable. Therefore, the swimming portion of the triathlon was completed in time trial fashion on Friday, November 8 with the Big Blue triathletes posting strong swim times. All three Millikin competitors notched top ten times in NCAA Division III in the swimming portion.

Aly Barnes was the first DIII competitor to exit the water, posting a time of 10:22, 13 seconds faster than any other Division III swimmer. Brenna Pacheco had the ninth fastest swim time in 11:19, and Anjaleah Knowles posted the tenth fastest time in an 11:22.

The race will resume on Saturday, November 9 at the original race venue, Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Fla. with the 20 kilometer bike and 5 kilometer run.
