Triathlon Places Sixth at NCAA National Championships

The Millikin women's triathlon team finished out the 2024 season in Clermont, Fla. at the NCAA Triathlon National Championships. In an unorthodox race that saw the swim completed on Friday, November 8 and the bike and run portions completed on Saturday, November 9 due to the lake at Lake Louisa State Park being deemed unusable due to debris from Hurricane Milton, the Big Blue placed sixth in NCAA Division III with just three scoring athletes.

Aly Barnes earned All-American honors with a seventh place finish in a time of 1:11:31. Barnes posted the fastest swim time yesterday from a Division III athlete. Brenna Pacheco was the second Big Blue athlete to cross the finish line in 1:18:16 to take 22nd in DIII. Anjaleah Knowles was not far behind in 27th in a time of 1:19:34.

North Central continued their dominance, placing first for the third year in a row. Trine was the second place team, and Central College rounded out the podium in third.
