Millikin Women’s Basketball Bows Out of NCAA Tournament

The Millikin women's basketball team was eliminated from the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament with an 89-65 loss at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on March 2 in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
Millikin finishes with a 23-6 record while Whitewater advance to the Sweet 16 at 24-4.
 
The Warhawks controlled the game from the start leading 24-15 at the end of the first quarter and 46-25 at halftime. Millikin struggled against Wisconsin-Whitewater's sizeable height advantage. The Warhawks outscored the Big Blue 48-26 in the paint and won the rebounding battle 42-36. Whitewater had six blocked shots. Millikin shot 33 percent (26-79) from the field going 7-23 from three-point range. Whitewater shot 60 percent (32-53) from the field.
 
Elyce Knudsen led Millikin with 30 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Bailey Coffman and Kyleigh Block finished with eight points each. Block had three rebounds and three steals. Sophie Darden had a team high nine rebounds. Matayia Tellis had a team high five steals.
 
Kacie Carollo led the Warhawks with a triple double with 27 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Aleah Grundahl added 26 points.
 
Knudsen's 30 points gives her 10 30 point plus performance in the season and another Millikin school record. Knudsen Big Blue records for career scoring 2,274 points (101 games), points in a season 763, field goals in a season with 301 and field goals in a career at 899. Coffman finishes her career seventh on Millikin's all-time scoring list with 1,443 points (113 games). Darden finished the year with 541 career rebounds placing her 19th on the all-time career rebounding list at Millikin.
