Millikin Women's Triathlon continues to make waves on the national stage. The Big Blue are currently ranked 24th across all NCAA divisions and hold the #4 spot in Division III. With a strong fall campaign, Millikin expects to send at least three athletes to nationals this season. Jayde Young, Audrey Korniak, and Brenna Pacheo are all nationally ranked and leading the way for the program.
This weekend, Millikin will contest back-to-back events, beginning Friday, October 3, with Millikin Splash & Dash. The competition begins at 4:30 p.m. with a 400-meter swim and 2-mile run. Teams coming to compete are Concordia Wisconsin, Northern Kentucky, Chicago State, and Roberts Wesleyan.
The weekend action continues Saturday, October 4, with one of the most competitive meets in the Midwest — the Prairie State Collegiate Cup, hosted by the Clinton YMCA. The race will take place at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area (7251 Ranger Road, DeWitt, IL 61735), located 12 miles east of Clinton.
Spectators are to be in the venue by 9 a.m. as roads into the venue will close prior to the races. Two waves will be contested: Wave A at 9:15 a.m. and Wave B at 10:15 a.m. Millikin will compete in Wave B. Athletes will face a challenging course consisting of a 750-meter swim, 12-mile bike, and 3.2-mile run.
