The Millikin women's soccer team earned a strong 3–1 victory over Augustana College on Saturday afternoon at Frank M. Lindsay Field. 

Millikin wasted no time getting on the board as Melis Barutcu converted a penalty kick in the 4th minute, giving the Big Blue an early 1–0 advantage. Just minutes later, Barutcu struck again in the 7th minute, finishing a well-placed pass from Addison Weed to double Millikin's lead.

Augustana responded in the 19th minute when Paige Bingen scored off an assist from Skylar Swanson, cutting the deficit to 2–1. Both teams battled through the remainder of the first half and much of the second, with Millikin's defense holding strong against multiple Viking attacks.

The Big Blue sealed the win in the 76th minute, when Caty Schmidt found the back of the net off a setup from Mia Brown, extending the lead to 3–1. 

With the win, Millikin moves forward with a home game against Illinois Weslyan on Wednesday, October 29th at 7:00 p.m.
