Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Big Blue Dominate in Fast-Paced 133–83 Victory

The Millikin men's basketball team delivered an electric, high-tempo performance on Friday night, rolling past Greenville 133–83 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Ill. The win pushes the Big Blue to 9–2 in dominant fashion.

From the opening tip, the game was played at a fast pace with heavy defensive pressure on both ends of the floor. Millikin capitalized on that intensity, forcing turnovers and turning them into quick scoring opportunities. The Big Blue surged ahead early and carried a commanding 65–44 lead into halftime, shooting efficiently while overwhelming Greenville with relentless offensive pressure.

Millikin showed no signs of slowing down in the second half, outscoring the Panthers 68–39 and leading the entire contest. The Big Blue finished with a season-high 133 points, fueled by balanced scoring and consistent defensive stops that kept Greenville from finding any sustained rhythm.

Nate Straughter headlined the performance with a career-high 33 points, putting together an ultra-efficient night while attacking the rim he also had 8 rebounds and 4 steals on the night. His scoring burst set the tone for Millikin's explosive offense. Ian Winkler added 14 points and two assists, while Lane Thomann chipped in 17 points and five rebounds as Millikin saw multiple players make an impact on both ends of the floor.

As a team, Millikin shot an impressive 65.1% from the field, dominated the paint, and consistently turned defensive pressure into fast-break points. The Big Blue also controlled the glass and won the turnover battle, creating separation early and never allowing Greenville to mount a comeback.

With the victory, Millikin continues to build momentum heading into the heart of the schedule. The Big Blue will return to action on December 31 when they travel to face Knox.
