Millikin Announces Fall CCIW Academic All-Conference Athletes

DECATUR, Ill.—Millikin University, in conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), announces its Jack Swartz Award Recipients and the CCIW Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference team for fall 2024.

Bradyn Olmstead and Kailee Itzenhuiser were selected as the Millikin recipients of the Jack Swartz award. Both athletes excelled in the classroom and led their teams in on field performance. In additional to being an outstanding student, Olmstead earned the right to compete in the 2024 NCAA National Championship race for the third consecutive season. He placed 148^th out of 294 runners. Olmstead was selected after finishing in 14th at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on Saturday with an 8K time of 24.59.4. Olmstead broke his own school record in the 8K at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships with a time of 24:39.1. The 14^th-place this season was Olmstead's top finish in an NCAA Regional. Itzenhuiser continued her dominance on the volleyball court for the Big Blue, surpassing 1,000 career digs in addition to surpassing the 1,000 career kills milestone last season. Itzenhuiser helped lead MU to the NCAA Volleyball Tournament Sweet 16, winning two matches to match the Big Blue's best performance in the NCAA Tournament all-time. She was named American Volleyball Coaches First Team All-Region in addition to Honorable Mention All-American honors and First Team All-Conference in the CCIW.
Each season the CCIW selects the Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference Team. To be recognized, the student-athlete must be enrolled as a full-time student, participate in a varsity sport and must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. Jack Swartz winners must have at least a 3.50 grade point average. Freshmen and first year transfer students are not eligible for the honors.
