The Big Blue men's basketball team wrapped up their 2024-25 campaign at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Ill. on Saturday, February 22 against the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin champions, the Firebirds of Carthage College. In a close contest, the Big Blue fell 77-84. 

Lane Thomann was the leading scorer for Millikin, scoring 24 on 9-for-14 shooting, going an impressive 5-for-7 from three point range. JT Welch chipped in 10 points, and Drake Stevenson was the leading rebounder with eight. 

Riley Brooks and AJ Johnson each scored 23 apiece for the Firebirds. 

Millikin was down just 37-40 heading into the halftime break. A three by Thomann knotted the score at 66 apiece with 6:30 remaining, but the Firebirds pulled away and never looked back after scoring six straight. 

The Big Blue end the 2024-25 season with an 11-14 record, 5-11 in CCIW play.
