Millikin Women’s Basketball Eliminated in CCIW Semifinal

The Millikin women's basketball team had its season come to an end with a loss in the semifinals of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Basktball Tournament to the number one seed Illinois Wesleyan University 89-62 on Feb. 28 in Bloomington, Illinois.
 
The Titans controlled the game from the start leading by nine at the end of the first quarter and opening up a 45-31 advantage at halftime.
 
Millikin senior Emily White ended her career with a double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. White went 3-4 from three-point range. Junior Bella Dudley added 17 points.
 
Illinois Wesleyan's top scorer was Ava Bardic with 23 points followed by Kate Palmer with 22.
 
Millikin shot 49 percent (23-47) from the field and made 8-18 from beyond the arc. Illinois Wesleyan shot 47 percent (34-72) from the field. The Titans took 25 more shots than Millikin thanks to a 36-26 rebounding advantage and a defense that forced Millikin into 27 turnovers.
 
Millikin ends the year at 9-18. The Titans, now 25-1, will face Carroll University on Saturday in the CCIW Tournament Championship game.
