The Millikin men's tennis team opened their spring 2025 campaign after going 2-0 in their fall dual matches with an indoor match against the Gorloks of Webster University on Saturday, February 8. The match, played at the Decatur Athletic Club, saw the Big Blue victorious in a 6-1 matchup.

In doubles play, the Big Blue dropped just the first match to finish, with Esteban Durand and Max Macke falling to the team of Jack Forlenza and Tyler Gonzalez at No. 3, 3-6. Millikin rallied to secure the final two matches and the doubles point with Clayton Maack and Matthew Kordesh downing Carson Fisher and Eli Bartek at No. 2 6-2 and Cole Phillips and Theodor Wolf teaming up for a match that went to a tiebreaker at No. 1 against Matthew Birchmeier and Ethan Foucheaux, 7-6 (8-6).

On the singles side, the Big Blue won 5-of-6 matches, starting with Kordesh at No. 4 with a win over Bartek, 6-2, 6-3. Maack was the next to secure victory at No. 2, defeating Fisher 6-3, 6-0. Wolf tallied a victory against Birchmeier at No. 3, 6-2, 6-1. Phillips picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win over Foucheaux at No. 1, and Durand avenged the doubles loss with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Gonzales at No. 5.     

Millikin will be back in action when they travel to St. Louis, Mo. for a matchup with Missouri Baptist on Friday, February 21.
