The Millikin men's tennis team took the courts at Fairview Park in Decatur, Ill. for a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin matchup against the Bluejays of Elmhurst University on Friday, April 18. The Big Blue won in sweeping fashion, taking the Bluejays down 7-0.
In doubles play, the team of Cole Phillips and Clayton Maack at No. 1 downed Reyes and Montenegro-Galarza in a 6-0 match. The partnership of Theodor Wolf and Matthew Kordesh saw a similar result at No. 2 with a 6-0 win over Songco and Koziol to earn the doubles point. Max Macke and Esteban Durand picked up a win by default at No. 3.
In singles play, Wolf defeated Reyes at No. 1 in a 6-1, 6-0 contest. Then, at No. 2, Maack defeated Montenegro-Galarza in a 6-0, 6-4 match. At No. 3, it was Phillips getting a victory over Songco in twin 6-0 sets. Kordesh was the victor in 6-0, 6-0 sets at No. 4 over Koziol. Macke defeated Puchalla at No. 5 in a 6-1, 6-0 match, then Durand was credited with a win by default at No. 6.
Millikin will be back in action against Augustana in Decatur on Saturday, August 26 at the Fairview Tennis Center.
