The Millikin women's triathlon team kicked off their 2025 season this weekend at the Geist Triathlon, hosted at Geist Waterfront Park. In a highly competitive field of six teams, the Big Blue battled hard and earned a 5th-place finish. 

Leading the charge for Millikin was freshman Jayde Young, who turned in an outstanding performance to place 6th overall with a time of 1:07:54. Audrey Korniak followed with a strong 16th-place finish in 1:12:51, and Brenna Pacheco rounded out the Big Blue's top three with a 20th-place finish in 1:14:38. 

Also racing strong for Millikin were Anjaleah Knowles (31st, 1:20:47), Yoanna Barajas (37th, 1:27:04), Imola Moreno 40th, 1:46:52). 

With the first race under their belts, the Big Blue are already looking ahead to their next competition — the Beaver County Tri Cup in Pennsylvania on September 20.
