Millikin Wins Three at Fred Johnson Duals

The Millikin wrestling team remained undefeated on the season winning three times at the Fred Johnson Duals hosted by Augustana College on January 3 in Rock Island, Illinois. Millikin opened with 24-22 win over Carthage. The Big Blue downed the host Vikings 30-17. Millikin defeated Buena Vista 41-11. The Big Blue are 12-0 overall and the wins over Carthage and Augustana improve Millikin to 6-0 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual action.

Millikin had to rally late in its first match to defeat Carthage 24-22. The Big Blue trailed 22-12 heading into the final two matches. Mateo Casillas started the Millikin rally with win by fall at 197 in 1:02. Leno Campbell then gave the Big Blue the win with a pin in 48 seconds at 285.

Other Millikin winners over Carthage include Charlie Armstrong in a 19-3 technical fall win at 133 pounds. Sabri Sino won in a major decision 12-4 at 149. Micheal Hutchison scored an 8-1 decision for Millikin at 165.

In the win over Augustana Armstrong and Sino won for the second time on the day.
Colin Claffey scored a major decision win a 141 and Chase Mirelez won by fall at 157.
Joey Jens won at 165 in a technical fall victory. Casillas rallied to remain undefeated on the season winning 7-4 in SV-1. Casillas entered the day ranked #13 at 197 in the latest NWCA Rankings. Campbell scored Millikin's final win at 13-5 in a major decision.

In the final win over Buena Vista, Armstrong scored a win by fall at 133 to improve to 16-5 on the season. Sino picked up this third win with a technical fall victory to improve to 20-3 on the season. Casillas and Campbell stayed unbeaten on the day. Casillas is now 16-0 on the season while Campbell improves to 13-1.
