Wrestling Opens Competition in NWCA National Duals

The Millikin wrestling team opened action at the 2026 NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa on January 9. The event features the top teams for all levels of collegiate wrestling.

Millikin went 1-2 on the day. The Big Blue won its preliminary round match over Baldwin Wallace 20-19. In the NCAA DIII main bracket, Millikin faced the fourth seed and eighth nationally ranked the College of New Jersey falling 30-15. The Big Blue lost its final dual of the day 40-3 to Vermont-Castleton. Millikin will face Wabash College on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Chase Mirelez was the Big Blue's top wrestler at 157 pounds going 3-0 on the day.
Kody Marschner went 2-1 at 184 winning both matches by fall.
