DECATUR, IL – Millikin men's soccer wrapped up its College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) schedule on Saturday afternoon, as they welcomed the North Park Vikings to Frank M. Lindsay Field for their final home game of 2026.
Despite a two-goal effort by
Kyle Grasse, a four-goal first half by North Park proved too much for the Big Blue to overcome as they fell to the Vikings, 5-2. Millikin closes CCIW play at 8-8-1 (3-5-0), while North Park improves to 11-1-4 (5-0-2).
North Park struck first, scoring in the second minute to take an early, 1-0 lead. The Vikings added goals in the 11th, 27th, and 45th minutes respectively to carry a 4-0 advantage into the half.
North Park extended their lead to five in the 63rd minute before Millikin responded three minutes later. Sophomore
Kyle Grasse found the back of the net in the 66th minute off an assist from fellow sophomore
Blake Helvey to put the Big Blue on the board. In the 75th minute, Sophomore
Luke Butler connected with Grasse for his second goal on the day, cutting the Vikings lead to three.
The Big Blue continued to fight in the final minutes, with three shots on goal, but could not overcome the early deficit as North Park secured the 5-2 victory.
