Millikin closed out the weekend on a high note with a 7–4 victory over Benedictine University in the final game of the series.
The Big Blue struck first in the bottom of the third inning when Kameron Ross crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly from Pete Britton to give Millikin an early 1–0 lead.
Benedictine answered in the top of the fifth with a run of their own. Millikin exploded for five runs in the fifth to take control of the game and build a 6–1 advantage.
The Big Blue added another insurance run in the seventh when Ross singled to right field, bringing home Kolby Kosloski to make it 7–1.
Benedictine attempted a late rally in the top of the eighth, scoring three runs, but that would be all as Millikin secured the 7–4 win.
At the plate, Ty Cribbett led the way going 3-for-4. Pete Britton finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs, while Leyton Ivers, Easton Steck, Sam Bushur, Carder Reich, and Kameron Ross each recorded a hit.
On the mound, Brayden Saling earned the win after a strong outing, pitching seven innings while allowing just four hits and striking out five. Nolan Reiman tossed two innings with three strikeouts, and Gavin Houchins made an appearance in the eighth inning to help hold off the late push.
Millikin returns home on February 28 to face Illinois College.
