Millikin put pressure on the defense in this game with their stolen bases.

Dubuque came out strong in the first inning, scoring two runs to take an early lead.

In the bottom of the first, Leyton Ivers worked a walk and stole second before advancing to third on a throwing error, putting himself in scoring position. Pete Britton then delivered a double to center field to bring Ivers home. Sam Bushur then drove a ball to the left side that scored Britton, tying the game.

In the bottom of the third, Millikin added two more runs to make the score 4–2. Carder Reich singled to center field and was then plated by Sam Bushur's single. Bushur later scored on a throwing error to second.
