Match Recap: Men's Tennis | | Morgan Vogels

Men's Tennis Victorious over SWIC

The Millikin men's tennis team returned to the Fairview Park Tennis Complex in Decatur, Ill. for their third match in two days. The Big Blue were victorious over Southwestern Illinois College, 5-2.

While the Big Blue yielded the doubles point to SWIC, the team of Matthew Kordesh and Thomas Tartari won their No. 2 doubles match against Kolten Tabbert and Wyatt Jurgensmeyer.

In singles play, Millikin's Gillian Nahum secured the No. 1 match victory over Julian Dubourg, winning 6-3, 6-4. At No. 2, Kordesh was the victor winning two 6-1 sets over Manaye Mossman. Eduardo Vargas tallied a three set victory over Ethan Moeller at No. 3, winning the first set 6-4 before dropping the second 3-6, then rallying to take the deciding set 10-5. Tartari saw a similar fate, falling in the first set 1-6 at No. 4 before rallying to take the second set 6-3 and the final set 10-8 to defeat Tabbert. Nils Fischer picked up the final win of the day for Millikin, winning 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 at No. 5 over Jurgensmeyer.

With the win, the Big Blue improve to 11-3 on the season. Millikin men's tennis will meet their first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opponent of the spring season in North Central College at Fairview Park on Sunday, March 29 at 12:00 PM.
