Millikin Wins over Coe College

In the final game of the Jimmy John's Invite, Millikin faced Coe College and won 5-1. 

Coe struck first, scoring one run in the opening inning to take the early lead. 

Joey Ross got the start on the mound for the Big Blue, throwing four innings while allowing just one hit and one run while striking out three to keep Millikin within reach. 

Millikin broke through offensively in the seventh inning. Ty Cribbett started the rally with a single, moving Leyton Ivers to third. Carder Reich then brought Ivers home with an RBI groundout to tie the game. Sam Bushur followed with a line drive to right field that scored Cribbett and gave Millikin the lead. Easton Steck added some insurance with his third home run of the weekend, a two-run shot that also brought Bushur across the plate. 

Millikin added another run in the bottom of the eighth inning when Cribbett delivered again with a line drive single to plate another run. 

Gavin Houchins was dominant in relief, pitching five shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out four to earn the win. 

Ty Cribbett led the Big Blue offensively, going 2-for-4 with an RBI on the day 

Next up Big Blue plays at home on Friday against Marian University
