Metamora, IL - Millikin University Women's Golf was in action on Thursday afternoon, taking part in the CCIW Preview. The three team event saw the Big Blue finish 2nd with a round of 320.
Millikin was led by freshman
Lindsay Jackson, who placed 5th after firing a 78 (+7). Right behind were
Ava Hackman and
Ruby Haegen, who both shot a 79 (+8) to tie for 6th place.
Jaryn Haarmann was the next Big Blue golfer in the standings, with her round of 84 (+13) good to tie for 10th place.
Zoey Beard took 12th with an 85 (+14), and a score of 88 (+17) was enough for
Hailey Homann to take 17th.
Playing as the individual,
Campbell Vrabel tied for 13th with a score of 86 (+15).
Madelyn Beck's 90 (+19) tied her for 20th, and Maddie Bradbury tied for 24th with a score of 95 (+24).
"Our women's team shot another competitive round in a quick turnaround from Highland. " said Director of Golf
Sam Osborne '10. Metamora Fields was in great shape for us. We got off to a strong start on the front nine, but lost a few shots on what is a tough closing stretch. We're excited to compete against some of the top programs in the region next week in Normal."
The Big Blue are back on the links on September 19th and 20th, when they take part in the IWU Fall Classic.
