Wheaton, IL – Millikin women's tennis was back in action Saturday afternoon facing the Wheaton College (IL) Thunder at the Wheaton Sport Center. The Big Blue were swept by the Thunder, 7-0. With the loss Millikin falls to 3-6 (0-4 CCIW) while Illinois Wesleyan improves to 3-0 (2-0 CCIW)
Wheaton swept doubles play. The No.3 duo of
Sarah Parsons and
Katie Kammerer would finish first. falling, 6-0. In No.2 doubles,
Bella Griffiths and
Maria Katalina Gomez Jerez lost 6-2. The No. 1 pairing of
Rachel Combs and
Braxtyn Madison wrapped up doubles play, defeated, 6-3.
In singles play,
Katie Kammerer would finish play first for the Big Blue in the No. 6 singles, falling, 6-0. 6-0.
Sarah Parsons was defeated. 6-0, 6-0 in No. 5 singles.
Rachel Combs lost 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles.
Maria Katalina Gomez Jerez fell, 6-0, 6-1 in singles No.3. At No.4,
Braxtyn Madison lost 6-0, 6-0.
Bella Griffiths would conclude the day for Millikin with a 6-1, 6-3 loss in No. 2 singles.
Millikin women's tennis returns to action on Friday, September 25 at 3:00 pm as they welcome the Bluejays of Elmhurst University to Fairview Park.
