Big Blue Faculty Liaisons

The Faculty Liaison Program was created to help build bridges between academic and athletic personnel on the Millikin campus, seeking to provide a service to our student-athletes. Faculty members and administration volunteer to become a part of a team, while getting to know coaches and team members and understanding what happens in the life of a college athlete.
The coaching staff and faculty member are free to define the liaison role by the needs of the team and the availability of the liaison. Faculty members may travel to some away games, host a team for a meal at their home, be at practice, or find other methods of bonding with the squad.

Both the faculty member and the student-athlete benefit from this experience. Faculty members may share some of what they do to remain sharp for their teaching responsibilities, while student-athletes demonstrate the hard work and dedication they need to be competitive at the college level. In a community of learners, everyone gains something from this program.
