Ryan Kaveney joined the Millikin University Baseball coaching staff in August 2019 as a Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach for the Big Blue.
Prior to coming to Millikin, Ryan was an Assistant Baseball Coach at his alma mater, Beloit College, where he worked with infielders and assisted the pitching staff. Kaveney was also instrumental in the recruiting process at Beloit, using both online and nationwide scouting events to recruit players. In his time as an Assistant Coach, he helped recruit 53 new players over a three year span. Beloit reached the Midwest Conference Championship in 2017 with Kaveney as an assistant. Ryan's other coaching experiences include coaching at the high school level as the Head Coach for Sophomores at Cary-Grove High School and Head Coach for the Illinois Stix 15U and 16U travel teams.
In his time at Beloit, Ryan was a pitcher for four years, earning First Team All-Conference Pitcher honors in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Kaveney was also named Second Team All-Central Region Pitcher in 2016, Third Team All-Central Region Pitcher in 2014, and Academic All-Conference in 2016. In his senior year at Beloit, Kaveney was instrumental in helping the Buccaneers claim the Midwest Conference Championship title and advanced to the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. Kaveney currently is a career record holder in strikeouts and innings pitched, second in ERA, and third in wins at Beloit. He is also an individual season record holder in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched.
Ryan is currently enrolled in Millikin's MBA program and resides in Decatur, Illinois.
