Corey Newsome

Corey Newsome joined the Millikin staff in 2024 coaching the Big Blue defensive backs and serving as the program's Academic Coordinator.
 
Newsome comes to Decatur from St. Louis, Missouri spending four seasons with Lindenwood University as a defensive analyst. Previously, Newsome coached defensives backs at Pattonville High School from 2018-2021. In 2021, Newsome coached two First Team All-conference Safeties in Grady Daniels and Kai Ross, one Second Team All-Conference cornerback in Jordan Perry and Honorable Mention cornerback in Keith Beverly. In 2022, in Lindenwood first year in the FCS, Newcome coached Darion Bolden who was voted First Team All-Conference in the Ohio Valley Conference.
 
Newcome played three years as a wide receiver at NAIA program Missouri Valley College.
 
He has one daughter Kayla Jennifer-Marie Newsome.
