Dan Potempa

Former Big Blue star linebacker serves as Millikin's Defensive Coordinator after joining the staff in 2011. 
The 2002 Millikin graduate earned CCIW All-Conference First Team honors as a senior when he led the Big Blue in tackles with 83 including 51 solo stops. 

Potempa joins the Big Blue staff after spending the last four years at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein where he served as Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers coach in 2010.  Last season Carmel won the ESCC Championship and advanced to the IHSA 7A quarterfinals.  Potempa’s defense held opponents to only 11.5 points per game including only 8.5 points per game in conference play.  His defense forced 27 turnovers in 12 games.  Potempa also coached the Defensive Line during his time at Carmel Catholic.  Potempa has two years of collegiate coaching experience at Lakeland College in Wisconsin where he coached linebackers and was the junior varsity defensive coordinator. 

Potempa, his wife Maggie daughters Georgia and Malone live in Decatur.
