      David Szentesy joined the Millikin staff in January 2016 and serves as the Big Blue's Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Linebackers Coach and the team's Strength and Condition Coordinator. In 2018, Szentesy's defense was ranked tied for 13th in NCAA Division III in tackles for a loss averaging 8.8 per game.
         Szentesy joined the Big Blue staff after spending five years on at staff at Rhodes College under new Millikin Head Coach Dan Gritti. From 2012-2015, Szentesy served as Defensive Coordinator at Rhodes where his defense lead the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) in points allowed, rushing yards allowed per game, red zone defense, sacks, tackles for loss and defensive touchdowns. In 2014, the Rhodes defense was second in the nation in sacks and had the national sack leader, Spencer Smith.
         Prior to Rhodes, Szentesy coached at Middlebury College from 2008-2011 and a Â
at Alfred College from 2006-08. Szentesy started his collegiate coaching career at Hamilton University.
         Szentesy was a three year starter and three time All-Liberty League selection during his collegiate playing days at Hobart College.
         Szentesy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Hobart in 2004 and a Masters of Education in Literacy at Alfred University in 2008.
