Mike Budziszewski joined the Millikin football staff in March 2017 serving as the Big Blue’s Offensive Coordinator.  In his first season directing the offense, Millikin set new school records for pass completions (206) and passing yards in a season (2,842).  In 2018, the Big Blue offense set new school records for passing attempts (375) and passing completions (220) and a new College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) mark for touchdown passes in a season (31).  Under Budziszewski’s leadership, wide receiver Jordan Smith set Big Blue records for receiving yards (1,044) in a season and touchdown receptions in a season with 17 (CCIW record). In two years under Budziszewski’s guidance quarterback Nicco Stepina blossomed ending his career with 14 Millikin offensive records.


Budziszewski came to Millikin after spending five seasons on the staff of Presentation College in South Dakota.  Budziszewski served as Offensive Coordinator for four years and in his final two seasons added the responsibilities of Assistant Head Coach.
 
Under Budziszewski’s leadership the Saints’ offense ranked among the top in NAIA Division I.  In 2014, the Saints were in the Top 10 in first downs per game, total offense per game, rushing offense per game and scoring offense per game.  In 2015, the team was ranked in the Top 20 in pass offense per game, third down conversions, total offense per game, total pass offense per game and pass efficiency.  In 2016, Budziszewski was a finalist for the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Assistant Coach of the Year while helping guide the Saints to a 7-3 record, which was the best season in school history.  The team was ranked in the top 25 in NAIA Division I in pass efficiency and scoring offense per game.
 
Prior to joining the Presentation staff, Budziszewski spent three seasons as the running back coach at Winona State University.
 
Budziszewski played collegiately as a quarterback at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Education. He earned his Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Winona State University.
