Patrick Etherton

Patrick Etherton was named the Big Blue Head Football Coach in April 2011.


Etherton has been on the Millikin football staff since 2004 and has coached on both sides of the football. He has 14 years of collegiate coaching experience. In addition to Millikin, Etherton has been on the football staffs at Washington & Jefferson College, the University of Puget Sound and Allegheny College.


Since 2008, Etherton has been the Big Blue’s Passing Game Coordinator, Wide Receivers Coach, Recruiting Coordinator and Head JV Coach. From 2004-08, Etherton was Millikin’s Co-Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach in addition to running the JV program and heading up the recruiting efforts.


Etherton was the Millikin’s Head Men’s Golf Coach from 2004 to 2011. Under Etherton, the Big Blue men’s golf program has been successful including winning the 2011 CCIW Championship and a bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship.


Etherton is a 2000 graduate of Millikin. He played defensive back during his playing days for the Big Blue and was a student assistant coach from 1998-2000. Etherton has a Masters of Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois Springfield. Etherton is married to 2002 Millikin graduate Airn English Etherton. The couple resides in Decatur.
