Jamal Russell

Jamal Russell joined the Millikin staff in 2018 as an assistant coach with the Big Blue men’s basketball program.
 
Russell has coaching experience on both the college and high school levels.  In 2015-16, Russell was a graduate assistant coach at Arkansas State University.  Russell was the team’s video coordinator and midway through the season assumed the role of Director of Operations.
 
In 2016-17, Russell was the head coach at Newcomb High School in New Mexico.  Russell was named the District Coach of the Year after leading to the Skyhawks to an 18-8 overall record going 9-0 in district play.
 
In 2017-18, Russell returned to his home state of Arkansas serving as an assistant coach at Camden Fairview High School.
 
Russell earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education at Southern Arkansas University.  He received a master’s degree from Arkansas State University in Sports Administration.
