Millikin Athletics

Mike Murphy joined the Millikin staff as an assistant basketball coach in August 2019.
 
Prior to joining the Millikin staff, Murphy spent five years as a highly respected basketball trainer and skill developer in Southern Wisconsin. His knowledge of the game and ability to innovate successful concepts and drills has allowed him to develop amateur athletes at a very high level. 
 
Murphy attended Janesville Craig High School and was a two-time Wisconsin State Journal player his junior and senior seasons, as well as an all-area and all-conference player his senior season in the highly competitive Big 8 Conference at the WIAA Division I level. Along with being one of the best three-point shooters in school history, Murphy also recorded one of the only triple-doubles in school history during his senior season.
 
Murphy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2018 with his bachelor’s degree in English Education/Writing and is the author of the sports biography/novel “Down and Back: Adversity in Amateur Athletics and Life”.
