Michael McCabe joined the Big Blue track & field staff in September 2025.
McCabe was born in Santa Maria, Calif. and graduated from Bakersfield High School. He competed as a sprinter from high school until the end of his sophomore year in college at Fresno State University. He began training and competing as a Decathlete until his graduation from the University in 2022.
McCabe moved to England for half a year to train and learn from English National Team coaches. While in England he coached athletes of all ages and skill ranges that also included university athletes. Upon his return to the states, he coached for a few years at the high school level while searching for his opportunity to coach full time in the college ranks.
