Brent Stevenson joined the Millikin coaching staff in 2017 serving as a pitching coach. Stevenson works with the Millikin pitching staff, with the Millikin pitchers notching a record of 157-62 during this time.

Stevenson is a native of New Zealand and came to the United States to play softball professionally when he was 20 years old. After stints in Arizona and Iowa, he came to Decatur, Illinois to play for the ADM and Decatur Pride teams of the 1980’s and 90’s. Awards included All-American honors in 1982 and 1989 at the ASA Men’s Major National Tournaments, All-World honors in 1984, 1985 & 1987 at the ISC Men’s Major World tournaments. He retired from competitive major softball after a twelve year career in Decatur.

After a fifteen year layoff Stevenson started pitching in the Masters Division where his teams have won five ASA Men’s Masters Nationals, two ISC Legends World titles and ten North American Fastpitch titles.

Stevenson is a member of the USA Men’s National Softball Coaching Pool (2021-2024), the Illinois Softball Hall of Fame and the North American Fastpitch Association Hall of Fame. He is also a volunteer pitching coach for the Decatur Park District.

Stevenson retired from ADM in 2019 after 35+ year in Information Systems Management.  Brent is married to Rebecca Stevenson and they have three children, Bennett, Chelsea and Derek.
