Virgile Gruny joined the Millikin Golf coaching staff in July 2025 as an assistant coach.
From Lamorlaye, France, Gruny graduated from the Institut Libre D'éducation Physique Superieur (ILEPS) in 2023 with a degree in Sports Management. He continued his education at Millikin University in 2023, earning his Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management in 2025.
Gruny has been a competitive golfer for 12 years and played for the Big Blue from 2023-2025. In France, he was a part of the 2019 High School French National Champion team. While at Millikin, Gruny was named an All-American Scholar in the 2024-2025 season. Along with being apart of numerous team records in 2 years, he has multiple individual records. In the 2024-2025 season he had the 11th all-time lowest season average at Millikin with a 74.26. He is also third in the Millikin record book for career low 36-hole score, shooting a 71-67 (-6) at the 2024 Highland Classic. Gruny has the third all-time lowest career average with a 75.28 at Millikin.
