Blake Olson

Blake Olson joined the Millikin wrestling staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2017-2018 season.
 
Blake wrestled collegiately at North Central College and was a three-year starter for the Cardinals at the 157 pound weight class. During his career, he was a three-time place winner at the North Central Invitational, Parkside Open, and College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships, as well as a 2015 Pete Wilson Invitational place winner.  He was honored as the CCIW Wrestler of the Week in January 2015, was a 2015 NWCA Scholar All-American, and ranked as high as ninth nationally as an individual. Blake was also a two-year captain at North Central and contributed to two NCAA top ten finishes.
 
As a high school competitor, Blake was a three time state qualifier for Wilmington High School, earning all-state honors his senior year with a third place finish. A two-year captain for Wilmington, Blake contributed to two team state championships in 2008 and 2009, a fourth place finish in 2010, and a qualifying berth in 2011. He was also a three time AAU All American and 2010 Midwest National Champion.
 
Prior to his arrival at Millikin, Blake coached the Wilmington High School and Wilmington Middle School teams in 2016-2017 and was a grappling coach at Genesis MMA.
